The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
