Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
I swear by all that you can see, 38 And what ye see not, 39 Behold, this [Qur'an] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 40 And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe; 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember! 42 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 43 if he had invented any lies about Us, 44 We would have seized him by the right hand, 45 and would indeed have cut his life-vein, 46 and not one of you could have defended him. 47 And most surely it is a reminder for those who guard (against evil). 48 We certainly know that some of you have rejected it 49 It is surely the nemesis of unbelievers. 50 yet it is a certain truth. 51 So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High. 52
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
