The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
