۞ Say thou: I but exhort you unto one thing: that ye stand, for Allah's sake, by twos and singly, and then ponder; in your companion there is no madness; he is naught but a warner unto you preceding a torment severe. 46 Say thou: whatsoever hire I might have asked of you is yours; my hire is with Allah only. And He is of everything a Witness. 47 Say to them, "My Lord hurls forth the Truth [at falsehood] and He is the knower of hidden things." 48 Say: "The truth has come, and falsehood had neither precedence nor will reappear." 49 Say: 'If I go astray, then I go astray only against myself; if I am guided it is because of that which my Lord has revealed to me. He is the Hearer, and the Near' 50 Couldst thou but see when they are terrified with no escape, and are seized from near at hand, 51 and then they will say, "We have faith in the Quran." How can they have any faith when they are far away from this world. 52 seeing they disbelieved in it before, guessing at the Unseen from a place far away? 53 A barrier will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with the likes of them before. Surely they were in a disquieting doubt. 54
