Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
