The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
