3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
