We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And every soul cometh, along with it a driver and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His companion will say: O our Lord! caused him not to transgress but he was himself in error far off. 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 The Word cannot be changed with Me; I do not wrong My worshipers' 29
