Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
