Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
