The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He hath created man. 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
