The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a grievous day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 whose seal is musk so let all aspirants aspire after that 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
