The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
