So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
