T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 it is only a reminder for him who fears Allah; 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 I am your Lord! Take off your sandals, for you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 I Myself have chosen thee; therefore give thou ear to this revelation. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 He said, “Put it down, O Moosa! 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." 24
