The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
