The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
