Pray, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, if You should bring the scourge of which they had been warned in my presence, 93 My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people." 94 Indeed, We are able to show you that which We promised them. 95 [But whatever they may say or do,] repel the evil [which they commit] with something that is better: We are fully aware of what they attribute [to Us]. 96 And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, 97 "And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they may attend (or come near) me." 98 When death comes to any of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back 99 so that I may do good works in the world I have left behind." Never! It is indeed but a meaningless word that he utters. A barrier shall stand behind such people till the Day they are raised up again. 100 So when the Horn is blown, no relationship will there be among them that Day, nor will they ask about one another. 101 Only those whose scales are heavier in the balance will find happiness. 102 But those whose scales weigh light will have ruined their souls; in Hell will they abide. 103 The Fire shall scorch their faces, exposing their jaws. 104 "Were not My Verses (this Quran) recited to you, and then you used to deny them?" 105 They will reply, "Lord, our hard-heartedness overcame us and we went astray. 106 Get us out of this, O Lord. If we transgress we will surely be sinful." 107 He (Allah) will say: "Remain you in it with ignominy! And speak you not to Me!" 108 Indeed, there was a party of My servants who said, 'Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.' 109 Then ye took them mockingly, so that they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, and at them ye were wont to laugh. 110 Today I shall recompense them for their patience, for it is they that have won. 111 He will say: How many years did you tarry in the earth? 112 They will say: "We stayed for a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep count of this." 113 [Whereupon] He will say: "You have spent there but a short while: had you but known [how short it was to be]! 114 Did you think that We had created you for a playful purpose and that you were not to return to Us?" 115 Then, exalted be God, the true King, there is no deity except Him, the Lord of the Glorious Throne. 116 He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not be successful. 117 And, [O Muhammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful." 118
