The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And no trifle. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
