Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 Eventually, they summoned their companion, and he undertook the (outrageous) task and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 We made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would take heed? 32 The people of Lot cried lies to the warnings. 33 Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, 34 through Our Mercy. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40
