On the Day when every soul will come pleading for itself, and every soul will be repaid what it did, and they will not be wronged. 111 God has struck a similitude: a city that was secure, at rest, its provision coming to it easefully from every place, then it was unthankful for the blessings of God; so God let it taste the garment of hunger and of fear, for the things that they were working. 112 There came indeed to them a Messenger from amongst them, but they cried him lies; so they were seized by the chastisement while they were evildoers. 113 So eat of what God has provided you lawful and good; and be you thankful for the blessing of God, if it be Him that you serve. 114 He has only forbidden you what dies of itself and blood and flesh of swine and that over which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, but whoever is driven to necessity, not desiring nor exceeding the limit, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 115 And, for what your tongues describe, do not utter the lie, (saying) This is lawful and this is unlawful, in order to forge a lie against Allah; surely those who forge the lie against Allah shall not prosper. 116 Brief (is their) enjoyment, after which a painful punishment awaits them. 117 And for those who were Jews We prohibited what We have related to you already, and We did them no injustice, but they were unjust to themselves. 118 Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who do an evil in ignorance, then turn after that and make amends, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful. 119
