۞ Those who do not hope to meet Us say: "Why are no angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" They are full of self-conceit and behave with intense arrogance. 21 On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban! 22 and We shall take all that they did and turn it into scattered dust. 23 [whereas] on that same Day those who are destined for paradise will be graced with the best of abodes and the fairest place of repose. 24 The day the heavens splits asunder with a dazzling white cloud gathering and the angels descend in a continuous stream, 25 The Sovereignty on that day will be the True (Sovereignty) belonging to the Beneficent One, and it will be a hard day for disbelievers. 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 Would that I had never chosen so and so for my companion! 28 "He did lead me astray from the Message (of Allah) after it had come to me! Ah! the Evil One is but a traitor to man!" 29 The prophet will say: "O my Lord, my people had fettered the Qur'an." 30 thus did We assign to every prophet an enemy from among the sinners; your Lord is sufficient as a guide and a helper. 31 Now they who are bent on denying the truth are wont to ask. "Why has not the Qur'an been bestowed on him from on high in one single revelation?" [it has been revealed] in this manner so that We might strengthen thy heart thereby - for We have so arranged its component parts that they form one consistent whole 32 We will support you with the Truth and the best interpretation whenever the infidels argue against you. 33 Those who will be pushed faces forward into Hell will be in a worse position, farther away from the path. 34
