A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 The Book has been sent down to you; so let your chest have no constriction because of it, in order to warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 Then naught was their cry when Our violence came upon them save that they said: verily we have been the wrong-doers. 5 Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers. 6 and We shall relate to them with knowledge; assuredly We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their soul for wronging Our signs. 9 And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks! 10
