The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He hath created man. 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
