20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O thou folded in garments! 1 rise (to pray) the night except a little; 2 of one-half thereof - or make it a little less than that, 3 Or increase a little upon it, and recite the Qur’an slowly in stages. 4 Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message. 5 Prayer at night leaves the strongest impression on one's soul and the words spoken are more consistent. 6 Indeed you have a lot of matters during the day. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god except Him. Take Him for your Guardian. 9 Bear patiently with what they say and with a fine abandonment forsake them. 10 And leave them to Me – these wealthy deniers – and give them some respite. 11 Verily with Us are heavy fetters and Scorch. 12 choking food and a painful punishment. 13 One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 Surely We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We had sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 If therefore you disbelieve, how will you guard yourselves against a day that shall make the children grey-headed? 17 The heaven will split asunder with its grief; the promise of Allah will surely occur. 18 Lo! This is a Reminder. Let him who will, then, choose a way unto his Lord. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
