We gave Moses the Book, and appointed with him his brother Aaron as minister 35 Then We said, "Go together to the people who have denied Our signs." We utterly destroyed them! 36 And Noah's folk, when they denied the messengers, We drowned them and made of them a portent for mankind. We have prepared a painful doom for evil-doers. 37 And the 'Aad and the Thamud and the dwellers of the Rass and many generations in-between. 38 And unto each! We propounded similitude thereunto; and each We ruined an utter ruin. 39 They have surely passed by the village which was rained upon by evil rain (of stones); what, have they never seen it? No, they look for no resurrection. 40 When they see you they take you only in jest: "Is this the one whom God has sent as messenger? 41 He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way. 42 Hast thou observed him who hath taken as his god his own desire! wilt thou be over him a trustee? 43 Do you think most of them can hear or understand? They are like cattle. Indeed, they are even more astray. 44
