Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And verily! They (the cities) were right on the highroad (from Makkah to Syria i.e. the place where the Dead Sea is now). 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
