It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 And with it He grows for you corn, and the olive and the date-palm and the grape, and all kinds of fruits. Surely, in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 And He has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by His commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder; 12 And He hath subjected for you whatsoever He hath multiplied for you on the earth of various kinds. Verily therein is a sign for a people who receive admonition. 13 It is He who has subjected the sea to you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it in order that you seek His bounty and give thanks. 14 And He hath cast into the earth firm hills that it quake not with you, and streams and roads that ye may find a way. 15 And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided. 16 Is then He, Who creates as one who creates not? Will you not then remember? 17 If you count the favours of God you will not be able to calculate. Assuredly God is forgiving and kind. 18 And Allah doth know what ye conceal, and what ye reveal. 19 Those you call on besides God cannot create anything. They are themselves created. 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
