The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
God the Almighty always says the truth.
