In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
