The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
