۞ And thy Lord hath decreed that ye shall worship none but Him, and unto parents shew kindness; and if either of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not unto them: pooh. And browbeat them not, and speak unto them a respectful speech. 23 And lower unto them the wing of meekness out of mercy, and say: O my Lord! have mercy on the twain even as they brought me up when young. 24 Your Lord knows very well what is in your hearts. If you are good, He is forgiving to those who are penitent. 25 And render to the kindred their due rights, as (also) to those in want, and to the wayfarer: But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift. 26 Surely the squanderers are the fellows of the Shaitans and the Shaitan is ever ungrateful to his Lord. 27 And if thou turnest away from them awaiting a mercy from thy Lord which thou hopest, then speak unto them a gentle speech. 28 Do not be niggardly, nor extravagant that you may later feel reprehensive and constrained. 29 Certainly Your Lord makes plentiful the provision of whomsoever He wills and straitens it for whomsoever He wills. He is well-aware and is fully observant of all that relates to His servants. 30
