The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
