۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 They can only return to hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
