Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ BLESSED BE HE who holds the (reins of) Kingship in His hand, who has power over everything, 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Then repeat thy look twice over, and thy look will return unto thee dim and it will have become wearied out. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort. 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). 14
