The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
