The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
