NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the night when it departs. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
