The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing 2 who believe in the Unseen, and perform the prayer, and expend of that We have provided them; 3 And who believe in this (Qur’an) which has been sent down upon you, O beloved Prophet, (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) and what was sent down before you; and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these they are the blissful ones. 5 As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7
