The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
