It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 who has set up another god besides God: cast him into severe punishment" -- 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
