The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
