Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 noble, recording, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
