Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
