Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 He -- exalted be our Lord's majesty! has not taken to Himself either consort or a son. 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
