Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
