The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
