And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
