Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
