Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
